| ARE THE FOOTPRINTS THAT ASTRONAUTS LEFT ON THE MOON IN 1969 STILL THERE? (Click for answer) |

An atmosphere is made up of the gases that surround a planet. For example, on Earth, we have an atmosphere that surrounds the Earth, and protects us from the Sun. It also traps the heat and and oxygen, which allows humans to survive on Earth. With no wind or weather of any kind, there won't be any erosion (a slow destruction by wind, water or some other natural event). If astronauts visit the moon today, footprints left by the first astronauts on the moon in 1969 (40 years ago), can still be seen on the ground.

Since there is no atmosphere on the moon, there is no wind or weather on the moon.
